The San Soo Video Preservation Society

A great opportunity for you to be a part of San Soo history!

You can donate to support this project via PayPal or by money order/check.

You can now be a member of the San Soo Video Preservation Society preserving material that possesses more knowledge about this great Art than you can get anywhere else! You can play an important role in preserving the largest video collection of San Soo information in existence. As a benefit for donating you’ll help preserve this information and get to view some of the lessons, lectures, forms, and demonstrations from my private video collection.  The footage you will receive is the raw video obtained during class—they are fast moving and have not been re-touched—just real San Soo! You’ll see techniques that few of your fellow students will know!

It has been (and still is) an uphill battle to start this project, technology had to catch up to what we wanted to accomplish.  We were always met with, "Well, you just can't get there from here".  Everyone seems to want different formats or something unusual.   I had one Master ask, "Will there be 6 months of lessons on each tape"?  The worst thing is that he was serious.

There are rules -  I cannot stop anyone from copying the videos at this time and do not want to spend the extra money to buy the protection.  If you allow your friends to copy these DVD's you will only be cheating yourselves because the project will suffer  if it does not pay for itself. There will be no need to continue because I do not intend to pay for the project only to get ripped off.  I hope to be able to trust the honor of my San Soo Family so they can see for themselves what was really taught and said by our Grand Master.

For each $50 donation we will send one DVD of Grand Master Woo's advanced class and we will pay the shipping and handling.  The DVD's vary in length from approximately  45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes.  I don't want to be held to an exact time for the DVD's because the classes varied and we didn't have control over that - you will get the total recorded time of the class.  You will get far more value than the donation you make.

You can use PayPal to make a donation.  Be sure to include your name and address and tell us  if you want a DVD  when you donate $50.

Note:  PayPal adds $3.85 for shipping and handling automatically (and we can't get it to stop doing that!) so if you want to donate a total of $50 please list the donation amount as $45.95

We are not a tax-exempt corporation so you will not be able to deduct these donations from your taxes.  If enough interest is generated I will consider forming a corporation.

I hope you will join us in this great Art's preservation -  we owe it to both Grand Master Woo and the future generations.

You can also make a donation by check or money order payable to:  San Soo Journal

Send it to:   PO Box  713003, Santee, CA 92072-3003

Thanks,

Ron Gatewood,
24 year Master, Kung Fu San Soo

Check these out!

I took raw footage of our classes over the years and the video, eight millimeter,  and audio tapes that were recorded amount to a vast collection that hasn't seen the light of day in more than 30 years!

Fortunately, they were stored properly and we are able to convert them onto the DVD technology.   Now that the cost of technology has decreased (but it's still expensive)  it's allowing me to digitize the magnetic tape media.  I am doing this myself and am dedicating my time to complete this project.  I've closed my business and this is my full time focus!

Converting the tapes to digital format allows me to work with the video and audio without fear of damaging the tapes, as well as no further loss in quality.  It is a time consuming process but it is worth it to preserve our awesome Art.

Click on the Still image below to watch a piece of the past.  Remember, these are actually clips taken from 8 mm film that were transferred onto video tape and then transferred to DVD - that's why there's no sound.

Enjoy them,

Ron Gatewood
